Where your data will be stored
Your data is stored on secure servers and databases housed by our top tier provider.
Backups and data required for development and service improvement and delivery may also be stored on physical media in in our offices and other facilities.

When you create an account on the Author Path, we gather information that may be personally identifiable, including but not limited to: your name, email address, and institution name.

We may also collect demographic information such as: career focus and discipline, educational degrees, native language, and country of residence.

We also gather or may gather certain information about your use of the Website, such as what areas you visit and what services you access. Moreover, there is information about your computer hardware and software that we collect or may collect. This information can include, without limitation, your IP address, browser type, domain names, access times, and referring website addresses.

We are not responsible for the use made by third parties of information you post or otherwise make available in public areas of the Website, such as on your profile.

As collaborators, co-authors may be able to:

The Primary Author for each project may be able to:

  • Submit a manuscript for publication
  • Share data and other manuscript information with non-collaborators

For legal reasons we may share personal information with companies, organizations or individuals outside of the Author Path if we have a good-faith belief that access, use, preservation or disclosure of the information is reasonably necessary to:

  • Meet any applicable law, regulation, legal process or enforceable governmental request.
  • Enforce applicable Terms of Use, including investigation of potential violations.
  • Detect, prevent, or otherwise address fraud, security or technical issues.

Data, Copyright, and Ownership
You, the user, own all the content you create. All the data associated with your manuscript is securely stored (see Security) and can be modified only by the Primary Author and collaborators. We claim no intellectual property rights over the material you provide to the Website. You are free to publish your content (articles, text, data, images, etc) in any other venue and release your copyright. Your profile and all contributed materials remain yours.
